Maple is Canada’s national tree. Spalting is a form of wood colouration (e.g., black and brown lines) caused by fungi and is characteristic of the initial stages of decay. Spalting is rare, difficult to find, and each piece is visually distinct. Each wood turned item is hand sanded and sealed with a food-grade, highly durable gloss finish.
