This image shows one of two large animated sculptures by Czech sculptor David Černý that are mounted on both sides of a corner of Maj Shopping Centre in New Town, Prague. A piece of open air art, Černy's 'Spitfire Butterflies' were created 'in honour of Czech pilots who fought in the British RAF and Army Corp.' The Spitfire is thought to symbolize the fight for freedom, while the wings of a butterfly suggest the delicate nature of the concept of freedom. Ltd Ed. 1/25 print.
