The National Theatre is an elegant building in Prague that is very important to Czechs in establishing themselves as a nation with it's own culture. First opened in 1883, it was renovated from 1977-1983 when opened to celebrate its 100th anniversary. At each corner are wonderful sculptures off Nike, Goddess of Victory and the roof edge is decorated with other sculptural works around the building's perimeter. The image captures people on their evening walk by the theatre near the Vltava River.
