This painting was inspired by an unforgettable trip to Ireland. Exploring the castle ruins, I took a number of reference shots to incorporate into a painting. Since the Barn Owl is the most threatened species of owl in Ireland, I felt compelled to compose an artwork of this magnificent bird, perched watchfully, taking refuge, and finding solace within a protective embrasure of Blarney Castle - one of Ireland's most resilient and unyielding fortresses.
This painting is framed and ready to hang.
